Neutrophils Notes:
Neutrophils are also known as neutrocytes. These cells are the most abundant type of granulocytes and the most abundant type of white blood cells in most mammals as well, compromising of about 70% of the total white blood cells. They form an essential part of the innate immune system however their functions vary in different animals. These cells are short-lived and highly motile, or mobile, as they can enter parts of tissue where other cells/molecules cannot. These cells are a type of phagocytes and usually the first responders to an inflammation resulting from infections etc. in the body.
