Chiasmata Notes:
A chiasma is the point of contact or a physical link between two chromatids belonging to homologous chromosomes. During a chromosomal crossover, an exchange of genetic material can occur over the chiasmata between both chromatid. This crossing over of genetic material is much more frequent or happens mostly during meiosis than mitosis.
