Structural Measures Notes:
While benchmarking against a leader firm, sometimes structural measures are considered. Organizations use structural measures in benchmarking in an attempt to qualify ISO standards and adopt an efficient system. Policies, strategies, goals and objectives and technical and management procedures followed by an organization comes under the structural measures, i.e. the areas which forms the structure of an organization. Each function of an organization represents a separate structural measure. The sub classes of the above mentioned structural measures are manufacturing and production, finance, engineering aspects, etc. Benchmarking by structural measures aids in determining the competitive position of a firm in the industry and the market.
