Directing is a function of project management that involves hiring and guiding the project team members. Supervising is a step of directing process. Individuals working in a project must be guided well so that they can perform their duties well. This act of guiding the project team is referred to as supervising. While supervising, project managers provide instructions to the members regarding their day to day work so that they can perform them efficiently and contribute towards the achievement of project goal. The work of the members are monitored and they are made accountable for their work.
