Program Evaluation and Review Technique was developed in 1958 and 1959. A project involves planning and a good way to plan a project involving all its activities is to use network planning. PERT includes some steps that must be performed. The first step is to define the activities and develop a work breakdown structure. Then the activities are arranged in the sequence. The time duration for each activity is estimated. And finally critical path of the project is determined. PERT has an advantage of displaying a large amount of data in the form of network diagram. Changes in the project and their effects can be evaluated using Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT).
