Duration Estimate Notes:
The project is usually decomposed into the associated activities and tasks. Each activity must take time to be completed. While scheduling the project (i.e. project-related tasks and activities), the estimation of activity time is must. These activity times are called duration estimates. Duration estimate is the estimated amount of time that will likely be required to complete a particular activity. Duration estimate can be a fixed value or a range of possible time. Duration estimates involve all the assumptions and constraints associated with the project. The leads and lags of the activities are not included in the duration estimates. Examples of duration estimates are 1 week required to paint a room, 1 week ± 2 days to design the posters and brochures (this means that the task cannot exceed 9 days).
