As the name indicates, process analysis considers a particular process and examines it in order to find any area of improvement. A process analysis involves the decomposition of the process components i.e. inputs, operations, outputs etc. and check which of the components need improvement and how they can be improved. Process analysis is basically an ongoing activity and the more efficient ways of performing the same process are identified. A process map or a flow chart is used to analyze a process. By using process analysis, the non-value added activities can be identified. These non-value added activities must be eliminated to improve the overall process by reducing its time and cost.
