Integrated Product or Project Teams Notes:
A project requires a project team that is responsible to perform the project related activities. A traditional structure of the project team is commonly used, however, in recent years, the structure of the teams has been changed according to the changing needs of the projects and the organizations. A structure of a project team that includes people across the organization as members is called integrated project team (IPT). This structure can also be used for new product development, hence another name given to it, called integrated product team. An integrated project team consists of a project manager, project sponsor and the members responsible to perform the project activities, collectively termed as core team. Each integrated project team has the project charter stating the project objective and assigned responsibilities. There is more communication in an IPT and collaborative decision making is performed.
