Every project has some uncertainty. It is important for the project team to identify and assess all the risks associated with the project. Risk analysis is the study of identified risks in proper detail. Risk analysis is performed so that the data regarding the risks can be collected and their probability of occurrence can be observed. Risk analysis also involves analyzing the effects of potential risks on cost, schedule and objective of the project. Data regarding risks can be gathered through different techniques. Some of them are experience, sensitivity analysis of alternatives, prototyping and testing results, relevant lessons learnt from past projects etc.
