Organizations nowadays try to develop teams involving people with different backgrounds, having unique skill sets, different values and beliefs etc. Diversity within project teams has many advantages. Having diverse people working on a project may lead to improved and better ideas and perspectives. This can help in faster decision making and problem solving. On the other hand, sometimes diversity, if not utilized properly, can lead to poor communication within teams which can cause reduced productivity, lack of trust, and low morale. Diversity can be based on age, gender, ethnicity, health, job status, race, religion etc.
