Customer's requirements are to be fulfilled to carry out a successful project. While performing a project, the project is divided into associated tasks and activities. These activities are to be scheduled so that the project is finished on time. A detailed document/model in which the activities and their estimated times are listed is called schedule baseline. Sometimes, changes are made in the planned schedule. Those changes must be made in the schedule baseline through a proper change control procedure. Schedule baseline is used to compare the actual results of the project with the planned schedule. The actual start and finish dates and times are compared with the actual dates and times to determine the deflection. Schedule baseline is a part of project management plan.
