Accommodating or Smoothing Notes:
A project manager is responsible to handle conflict among the project team members. As team members can have different opinions, they can get into a conflict. One of the approach to handle conflict is called accommodating approach which is also called smoothing approach. In this approach, the discussion on differences is avoided. There definitely are some areas of agreement within the conflict. The accommodating approach of handling conflict identifies those areas. Although vale is placed on both, the conflict resolution and the relationship between the conflicted parties but more value is given to the relationship than the resolution of the conflict. The accommodating/smoothing approach does not resolve the issue rather handle it well.
