Fuel Cell Definition:
A source of electrical energy which comes directly from the energy stored in the chemicals in the cell, one of which is oxygen (which may come from the air).

Fuel Cell Notes:
An electrochemical cell that is capable of converting the chemical energy of a fuel (often hydrogen) and an oxidizing agent (often oxygen) into electricity. This happens through a pair of oxidation reduction reactions. Fuel cells are different from most batteries. They can produce electricity continuously for as long as fuel and oxygen are supplied. Natural gas, methanol, LPG etc. are used as fuels.
