Genetic Code Notes:
Genetic code can be defined as a set of rules present in living organisms. This set of rules is used by living cells to translate information encoded within genetic material (DNA or mRNA sequences) into proteins. The genetic code has great significance in biology as everything in our cells is ultimately built based on it. Our hereditary information which is the information that's passed down from parent to child is stored in the form of DNA. DNA then builds RNA, proteins, and ultimately cells, tissues, and organs.
