Hemoglobin Definition:

Hemoglobin Notes:

Haemoglobin can be defined as a protein contained in red blood cells, which carries oxygen from the lungs to the tissues of the body. It is a globular protein with a quaternary structure. It consists of four polypeptide subunits. Haemoglobin also helps in the transportation of carbon dioxide and hydrogen ions back to the lungs. Haemoglobin is extremely important because if a haemoglobin test reveals that your haemoglobin level is lower than normal, it means you have a low red blood cell count.
