Renewable fuels, sourced from plant or animal materials are called biofuels.

Biofuels Notes:
The term biofuels itself describes itself. Biofuels are those fuels that are derived immediately from living matter. Important examples of biofuels include ethanol (often made from corn and sugarcane), biodiesel (vegetable oils and liquid animal fats), green diesel (derived from algae and other plant sources) and biogas (methane derived from animal manure and other digested organic material). Biofuels are very important as they have numerous uses. They can be used as heat and energy sources. They can be used for transportation. They also contribute in lubrication, cooking, cleaning oil spills and grease, removing paints and adhesives, charging electronics etc.
