Plastids Notes:

Plastids consists of double membrane bound organelles that exist in the internal part of plants. Plastids foremost and predominant function is to trigger those activities that are associated with making and storage of food. Plastid are further divided into three parts conforming to its characteristics : chloroplasts, chromoplasts, leucoplasts. Chloroplast, possess the layout of photosynthesis and are eukaryotes. There come a second one: chromoplasts, found in flowers, petals and fruits. Leucoplasts are categorized as the third part, colorless and being expert in storing starch, proteins and lipids.
