Chemostat Notes:

A Chemostat (stat: static) is a bioreactor. As fresh liquid is continuously added to it, the culture liquid containing leftover nutrients, microorganisms and metabolic end products keep continuously being removed at an equal pace, to keep the culture volume constant. By adjusting the rate at which the medium is being added to the bioreactor, we can easily have control on the specific growth rate of the microorganism.
