Telomers Definition:
Short DNA segments at the end of the chromosomes DNA is called telomeres. It typically consists of multiple repetitions of one short nucleotide sequence.

Telomers Notes:
Telomeres are the caps at the end of each strand of DNA that protect our chromosomes, like the plastic tips at the end of shoelaces that protect it from opening. Similarly, without telomeres, DNA strands become damaged and our cells can't do their job. With every round of replication some of the DNA is left and this leads to shortening of the total DNA. Telomeres protects the DNA from that and with age, even telomeres start to shorten.
