Humoral immune response Notes:
Humoral immunity refers to antibody production and the accessory processes that accompany it. Basically humoral immunity is the aspect of immunity that is mediated by macromolecules found in extracellular fluids such as complement proteins, secreted antibodies and certain antimicrobial peptides. This kind of immunity is called humoral immunity because it involves substances found in the humors, or body fluids. It contrasts with cell-mediated immunity. Its aspects involving antibodies are often called antibody-mediated immunity.
