Active Transport Notes:

Active transport is a process in which energy is required to move the molecules across a membrane against the concentration gradient i.e. from lower concentration region to the region of higher concentration. The two types of active transport are 'primary active transport' and 'secondary active transport'. The former one uses ATP whereas the latter uses the electrochemical gradient. In humans, the intestines uptake glucose with the help of active transport.
