Fertilization Notes:

Fertilization is the reproductive process that happens from the fusion of gametes to form a new organism of the same species, which in easier words means the production of daughter cell from fusion of parent cells. In animals, the process involves a a male gamete fusing with the female, which ultimately leads to the development of an embryo which turns in to a zygote. A fertilizer is any material of natural or synthetic origin that is applied to soils or to plant tissues to supply one or more plant nutrients essential to the growth of plants. Many sources of fertilizer exist, both natural and industrially produced. The addition of these substances in the sol enhances its ability to produce healthier plants. The addition of fertilizers to the soil is known as fertilization. Fertilization is a term that is used in place of pollination or impregnation. It is basically the fusion of gametes to induce the development of an offspring. This process of fertilization and subsequent development of an offspring is termed as sexual reproduction.
