Bacteriophage Notes:
Virus not only attack the animal or human cells but they can also attack bacteria. For example the bacteriophage virus attacks the bacteria cells. As a matter of fact the word "bacteriophage" literally means "bacteria eater," because bacteriophages destroy their host cells. All bacteriophages are composed of a nucleic acid molecule that is surrounded by a protein structure. An example of these are the Escherichia virus T4 that infect Escherichia coli bacteria.
