Consortium Notes:

A consortium is an association of two or more individuals, who participate in a common activity in order to attain a common interest. The word consortium is of Latin origin meaning association or partnership and is derived from the word "consors" meaning partner (con=together, sors=fate). The concept was first introduced in microbiology in 1872 by Johannes Reinke, which later took on the term of "symbiosis".
