Leading strand Definition:
DNA strand being synthesized in one go and not as fragments is called the leading strand.
Campbell Biology by J.B. Reece, L.A. Urry, M.L. Cain, S.A. Wasserman, P.V. Minorsky, R.B. Jackson
Leading strand Notes:
DNA replication happens on both the strands meaning that both strands serve as templates for the synthesis as the new strand. However one of these is called the leading strand, and it is replicated continuously in the 3' to 5' direction and that's because new DNA is synthesized in 5' to 3' end and this strand has the perfect setting for the synthesis of the new strand.
