Salience Model Notes:
In the process of identifying key stakeholders of a project, the data regarding them must be collected. The information regarding the stakeholders must be analyzed. This analysis is used so that the important decisions about the stakeholders can be made. The decisions are about involvement of the stakeholders in the project and the influence of their involvement on the project. Stakeholder data can be represented using different techniques. One of the techniques is stakeholder mapping and representation. The tools used for stakeholder mapping and representation involve salience model. The elements involved in the salience model are power, urgency, and legitimacy. However, in some cases, legitimacy is substituted by proximity. Based on the assessment of these elements, the stakeholders are classified. Salience model is used for large projects in which the relationships with the stakeholders are complex.
