Project Selection Notes:

Customers generate several ideas of different projects or identify the opportunities to convert them into potential projects. After identification of opportunities, the alternatives are evaluated and a project is selected from the list of alternatives. All the pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages, and benefits and losses of the alternative projects are considered while selecting the best alternative. All these considered factors can be qualitative and quantitative. The steps involved in the selection of a project include developing the evaluation criteria for the opportunities, listing assumptions, gathering data and information for the opportunities, evaluating each opportunity based on the defined evaluation criteria, and selecting the best alternative.
