Specifications are the description of a product, service or item that needs to be procured. There are three types of specifications. One of them is called functional specifications. Functional specifications involve the expectations of the customer regarding the functionality of the product. Functional requirements are the subset of the performance specifications. Functional specifications are related to the end use of the product.
