Aspect of Past Tense Notes:
Aspect of past tense combination of four aspects in the canvas of present time, to form a past tense structure we use four aspects as per as English grammatical rules are concerned. These aspects are of past simple, "past continuous, past perfect, past continuous and past continuous perfect". Even though these aspects taught us tenses individually at a time, as they are the combination of past tense with a single aspect. Just as tense tell us when action takes place in the canvas of time, aspect tells us more details about how the event takes place in time. For example in the making of past continuous tense we need past tense with the (was/were) and the continuous aspect for example " They were eating dinner when my father arrived."
