Endothermic Definition:

Endothermic Notes:

The chemical reactions that absorb energy in order to proceed are called endothermic reactions. These reactions cannot occur spontaneously. Work must be done in order to get these reactions to occur. A temperature drop is measured during the reaction when endothermic reaction absorbs energy. These reactions are characterized by positive heat flow (into the reaction). There is an increase in enthalpy (+ΔH) in such reactions. Examples include, photosynthesis, cracking alkanes, melting ice etc.
