Electrode Definition:

Electrode Notes:

An electrode is a metal on which oxidation-reduction equilibrium is established between the metal and what is in the solution. There are two types of electrode, anode and cathode. An anode receives current or electrons from the electrolyte mixture which means that it is oxidized. On the other hand a cathode is reduced. Examples of electrodes are copper, zinc, lead, and silver etc. Electrode is a compulsory part of an electrolytic cell.
