Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) Notes:
DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, is known as the hereditary material in humans and almost all other organisms. The term hereditary material means the transmission of characteristics from one generation to another which is done in the form of DNA. Nearly every cell in a person's body has the same DNA. DNA is a chemical code that determines a person's biological characteristics. The information in DNA is stored in the form of a code. This code is made up of four chemical bases: adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and thymine (T).
