Codon Definition:
A set of three successive bases in mRNA which codes for a specific amino acid in protein synthesis is called codon.

Codon Notes:
A codon is defined as sequence of three DNA or RNA nucleotides that corresponds with a specific amino acid during the synthesis of proteins. A full set of codon is called a genetic code and codon provides the key that allows the languages of DNA RNA and proteins to be coded. It is the set of rules used by living cells to translate the information encoded in genetic material. DNA and RNA are written in a language of four nucleotides while language of proteins include 20 amino acids.
