Meiosis Definitions:
Cells divide by a special type of cell division called meiosis.
Cambridge IGSCE Biology by Mary Jones, Geoff Jones
Meiosis is the process by which one diploid (2n) eukaryotic cell divided to generate four haploid (1n) daughter cells.

Meiosis Notes:

In meiosis, the formation of chromosomes are in diploid (2N) and haploid (1n) manner, where diploid account for chromosomes number in pairs i.e. homologous pairs while haploid means the half number of chromosomes i.e. chromosomes are not in pairs form.
