Chiral Notes:
A molecule or ion that is non-superimposable on its mirror image is a chiral molecule. One of the several structural features that induces chirality in organic and inorganic molecules is the presence of an asymmetric carbon center. The term Chiral is derived from the ancient Greek word "Cheir", (meaning hand). The mirror images of a chiral molecule or ion are known as optical isomers or enantiomers.
