Contaminant Notes:
A contaminant is anything whose presence makes a place or a substance (e.g., food, air or water) unsuitable for use. In other words, something that contaminates a substance or a place. Living organisms, like viruses, fungi, bacteria or their products and enzymes, are common examples of contaminants, as these can be hazardous to animal and human health if absorbed into the body.
