The Golgi apparatus is also called a Golgi complex or Golgi body. This structure is similar in appearance to the ER. It is a membrane-bound organelle found in eukaryotic cells and is made up of a series of flattened stacks that are termed cisternae. It is the site of post translational modifications of the proteins.
