Quantitative character Notes:
A quantitative trait is a measurable phenotype that depends on the cumulative actions of many genes and the environment. These traits can vary among individuals, over a range, to produce a continuous distribution of phenotypes. Examples include height, weight and blood pressure. The skin color for example is in a continuum and is not present as just the presence or absence of one skin tone. The skin tones come in a wide variety of shades and is hence termed as quantitative trait.
