Character Notes:
A heritable feature which is acquired from the parents is called a character. For example in humans the skin color is a heritable character which is quite similar to the parents in most cases. However the character might not be 100% identical to the parent as many genes are at play especially in higher organisms like humans, which determine the character or the phenotype.
