Gap Notes:
A gap is basically lagging behind of the desired level. Gaps can be in manufacturing, service, marketing and customer care. During a production process, a desired specification level is set. When the process produces products that are not according to the set specification level, it is said that a gap exists. Moreover, a company can provide outstanding services to the customers but still the customers cannot be happy. This is due to the fact that there is a gap between the provided services and the customers' expectations or needs. Gaps are very important to be identified as it is necessary to take action on those and eliminate them from the process to improve it.
