A project undergoes several phases during its life. The phases collectively are called project life-cycle. Each phase of the project life cycle contains several activities that are to be performed. A project phase is a collection of activities and tasks that are linked together in a logical sequence. These tasks and activities are to be performed in order to complete one or more deliverables. Each project phase is usually provided a unique name that refer to the type of activities performed in that particular phase. Examples of some project phases are concept development, design, build, testing, milestone review, lessons learnt etc.
