Sometimes, a project is affected by its environment. The environmental factors that affect a project or an enterprise are called enterprise environmental factors. These factors are not under the control of the project team. Enterprise environmental factors either influence, limit or direct the project. These factors can have both positive and negative effects on the project. Enterprise environmental factors can be internal and external to the organization. Internal EEF's include organization culture and structure, infrastructure, resources, capability of the employees etc. External EEF's include market conditions, social influences, cultural influences, legal restrictions, commercial database, financial consideration, academic research, industry standards, physical elements of the environment etc.
