Metastasis Notes:
Metastasis is the spread of cancerous and abnormal cells from the main site to a different or secondary site within the host's body. Metastasis is typically used to describe the spread by a cancerous tumor. The new sites that acquire the cancer this way are called metastases. These metastatic cells may travel through the blood stream or just by diffusion to nearby tissues.
