Mammary glands Notes:

A mammary gland is an exocrine gland in mammals that produces milk. This milk is to feed young offspring. The mammary glands are present at different locations in different animals for example theyre in breasts in primates, in the udder in ruminants for example goats, and the dugs of other animals for example cats. In a female who has recently gestated, a regular production of milk through these glands will occur that is enought to feed the young ones. In a few rare cases in mammalian species, male lactation can also occur. With humans male lactation can occur only under specific circumstances and may be an abnormality.
