isomers Definition:
Isomers are compounds that have the same numbers of atoms of the same elements but different structures and hence different properties.
Campbell Biology by J.B. Reece, L.A. Urry, M.L. Cain, S.A. Wasserman, P.V. Minorsky, R.B. Jackson
isomers Notes:
Isomers of an element isomers are ions or molecules with identical formulas but distinct structures. Isomers do not necessarily share similar properties. Two main forms of isomerism are structural isomerism (or constitutional isomerism) and stereoisomerism (or spatial isomerism). They have different structural properties which leads to them having different physical and functional properties too.
