Gametes Notes:
Gametes are reproductive cells that join together to make a zygote or a fertilized egg. The gametes in the females are called ovum and those in the males are called sperms. Gametes have haploid number of chromosomes which means that they each inherit one copy of each chromosome. Gametes are produced in dedicated organs called gonads where they are kept until they are needed during reproduction.
