Centromere Notes:
The centromere is the specialized DNA sequence of a chromosome that links the dyads or the pair of sister chromatids together. Centromeres were first thought to be genetic loci that direct the behavior of chromosomes. The location of the centromere might be in the centre or sometimes near the ends. During mitosis, spindle fibers attach to the centromere through the kinetochore structure.
