Centrosome Notes:
A centrosome is an important organelle in the cell that has vital functions during the division or mitotic stage. Centrosome is the main place where cell microtubules are formed and organized. A pair of centrioles are present here that help in the spindle formation during mitosis. The centrosome is an organelle that is the main place where cell microtubules are arranged. They are made from two centrioles. Centrioles are microtubule rings. The main purpose of a centrosome is to organize microtubules and provide structure for the cell, as well as work to pull chromatids apart during cell division. Also, it controls the cell division cycle, the stages which lead up to one cell dividing in two. A chaeta or cheta is a chitinous bristle or seta found on an insect, arthropod or annelid worms such as the earthworm, although the term is also frequently used to describe similar structures in other invertebrates. The plural form is chaetae or chetae. In the Polychaeta, they are located on the parapodia.
