Factorial Design Notes:

Processes need to be monitored and controlled. There are several techniques to do this e.g. designed experiments, statistical process control etc. Out of these techniques, designed experiment is the one that enables to consider both the inputs and outputs of the process. There are some factors in a process that are controllable. Designed experiment uses those controllable factors and studies their effects on the process outcomes. One of the type of designed experiments is factorial experiment. A factorial experiment consists of two or more variables or factors having discrete levels and considers all possible combination of these factors levels to test. Factorial design can be used to check the effect of different combinations of factors on the process outcome.
