Distinguishing the offerings of an organization in a way that the customer perceives as adding value.

Differentiation Notes:
Differentiation process used by the firms to differentiate from others by providing some unique kind of product. Those organizations that have strong differentiation strategies generate more value for customers. Consumer chooses one brand over other which identifies the qualities which are set by the firm to drive customer's choice. Differentiation can be done through packaging, promotion of product or by adding some unique features such as Apple. The main purpose of product differentiation is to divert the customer attention towards their own product.
